A cat café is a theme café whose attraction is cats that can be watched and played with. Patrons pay a cover fee, generally hourly, and thus cat cafés can be seen as a form of supervised indoor pet rental.
I graduated from the University of South Carolina and landed a fantastic big boy job in Corporate America. I was flying around the United States, but I missed my girlfriend (Now Fiancee) and our cat. So, instead of exploring the city, I would look for cat cafes. When I would fly back home, I really wished that there was one here in Columbia. My girlfriend and I would also see homeless cats outside of our favorite restaurants. Then we decided to do something about both problems. Now here we are. :)
Cats tend to get really stressed out if you take them out of their comfort zone. They also tend to get their buddies sick if one of them catches the flu. Because of this, we don't allow for other cats to be brought in just so they don't get stressed out and so no kitties get sick. We also like to keep our insurance company happy.
YES!!! Yes. YEAHHHH. YUPPPP. Si!
We are proudly partnered with PetsInc! We are hoping that you fall in love with a kitty and decide to take him/her home! Together, we truly believe that we can make a difference and save hundreds of cats here in the Midlands area.
We take adoptions very seriously here at Catitude Cat Cafe and at PetsInc. Be prepared for a full FBI investigation (Kidding, kinda, actually only slightly kidding) to make sure that you are the right fit for the cat and the cat is the right fit for you. The adoption fee is set by PetsInc. and any adoption fees go straight back to them and their mission.
Well, we are in a two-story building.
The first floor is the cafe lounge and it is free to come in and pay for a cup of coffee or snack. We have free wifi and white boards for students to come in and study.
The second floor is the cat lounge and to go play with the cats is where the $12 comes into play. You do however get a great cup of coffee or soda with entry along with a snack. We have to pay for the roof over our heads and the bills that just won't stop coming in every month. Feel free to leave your non-cat lover friend downstairs and go play with the kitties. That'll be fine too.
We do however provide discounts for students, military, law enforcement and teachers. If you are a public servant, let us know what you do and we'll also try to hook you up.
Yes. We don't want to stress our kitties so we do have a 18 person limit for right now to be in the cat lounge. That is subject to change. We'll update our limits here and our staff will let you know too.
Because there are limits, we do recommend that you make reservations online. The link is bookeo.com/catitude_cat_cafe
